Behind every operation Dr Ameet Kumar performs is two decades of asking how it could be done better — and then writing it up so other surgeons can learn from it. His work spans gastrointestinal, hepato-pancreato-biliary and laparoscopic surgery, published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international meetings.

Dr Kumar continues to lead and contribute to clinical research aimed at making surgery safer and more precise.
The FAIR Trial
A funded study (approximately Rs. 60 lakh) evaluating indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence angiography to assess blood supply and guide decision-making during laparoscopic rectal cancer surgery — work that aims to reduce one of the most serious complications of bowel surgery.
Real-time ICG Fluorescence for Insulinoma Localisation
Using fluorescence imaging to pinpoint small, hard-to-find pancreatic tumours during minimally invasive surgery.
AI Prediction of Difficulty in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
A pilot using deep-learning and ultrasound imaging to predict, before surgery, how difficult a gallbladder removal is likely to be.
